6 Simple Ways To Impress Your Customers When They Visit Your Workshop

When your customers arrive at your facility, before they enter the office they will most likely need to walk past your workshop and factory flooring. Most people don’t realise what effect this can have on whether or not that customer chooses to return. Here are six tips to make sure they are impressed every time they visit.

1. MAKE SURE THEY CAN SEE WHERE TO GO

What this means is having clear markings on the ground/floor of your facility. This will ensure they don’t get lost and more importantly stay safe during their visit.

2. KEEP YOUR WORKSHOP CLEAN

Having a clean workshop will show your customers that you take pride in your work and workspace. This will give them more confidence in your service.

3. HAVE A PLACE FOR EVERYTHING

This goes hand-in-hand with the above point. Having a place for everything will make your workshop look orderly and make it easier to keep clean. Your customers will be wowed when they see how ordered everything is. Making sure your mechanics know where everything goes will also increase their productivity, as an added bonus. Also make sure to have easy to follow line markings for foot traffic and stickers showing vehicle traffic.

4. PROVIDE PPE

If your workshop is large, noisy and has vehicles, like forklifts moving around, you should ensure your customer is kept safe. You can do this by providing them with the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, earplugs and high vis vests. Show your customers that you are a responsible organisation and value their safety.

5. PROVIDE THEM WITH FREE REFRESHMENTS

If your customer stays for a while, you should always provide them with FREE refreshments. Not only is it polite and will make them feel welcome, but it might also encourage them to stay longer and give you more time to speak with them and maybe earn yourself some more work.

6. GIVE THEM FREEBIES

Every company should have a collection of branded merchandise that they can give away to customers such as key rings, coffee mugs or clothing. These things can be low cost but help to strengthen the bond between you and your customer. It also actively works to promote your company when the customer comes in contact with other potential customers.

Doing these six simple things will wow your customer and make them want to come back again and again.
