What Really Lasts: Line Marking for Forklift-Heavy Warehouses

When forklifts are constantly moving through a warehouse, line marking needs to do more than just look good – it needs to last. In this video, we look at four common line marking options used in warehouses with heavy forklift traffic and talk through the pros and cons of each.

1. Line Marking Projectors

Projectors are the best-performing option when it comes to durability. Because they project light rather than applying a coating to the floor, there’s nothing for forklifts to wear away. The trade-off is that they’re a larger upfront investment, but in high-traffic areas they can be a long-term solution.

2. MightyLine Tape

MightyLine tape is a durable tape option that performs well in many warehouse environments. At 1.3mm thick, it takes time to wear out and holds up better than standard tapes. Another benefit is that it can be removed or changed in the future, making it a flexible option if layouts are likely to change.

3. 2-Pack Epoxy Line Marking

2-pack epoxy is a popular solution, but it does come with higher costs and longer installation time compared to other options. While it offers good durability, planning around installation and downtime is an important consideration.

4. Single-Pack Line Marking Paint

Single-pack paint, such as Dulux Roadmaster, is the least durable option for forklift-heavy areas. It goes on relatively thin, and adhesion can be an issue, meaning lines tend to wear away faster and require more frequent maintenance.

What’s the Right Choice For You?

As explained in the video, the best line marking solution depends on traffic levels, budget, and how the space is used.
