Pro’s & Con’s of our 2 Pack Epoxy Line Marking

Are you tossing up what product would work best in your workplace?
We know what it feels like so we’re going to break down the pro’s and con’s of the 2 pack epoxy line marking and then we want you to go read our other blogs of our other products.
2 pack epoxy is known for its durability and long-term performance, but it also comes with some limitations that are important to understand before choosing it for your site.
Below is a breakdown of the main pros and cons so you can better understand where it works well and if it’s a good suit for your site.
PRO’S:
1. Liquid Applied – doesn’t peel
Epoxy is applied as a liquid coating directly onto the concrete surface and because there’s no adhesive layer underneath, there’s far less risk of edges lifting, peeling, or tearing over time.
In busy environments where forklifts regularly turn or drag pallets across marked areas, this can make a noticeable difference in longevity.
2. Doesn’t Mark
It’s made to withstand wheeled traffic over it so very little maintenance is required to keep it looking shiny & like brand new.
3. Gloss Finish
Typically has a smooth gloss finish, which gives it the benefit of not attracting any dirt and is easy to cleam.
4. Slip Resistance Can Be Added
Because it is a liquid product, we can add slip resistance to it so if you’ve got wet or areas that often have chemical spills, this is the best product for you.
5. 3yr Warranty on Adhesion
It is based on preparation being done correctly for it to last this long, even under reasonable traffic.
CON’S:
1. Long Curing Time = More Downtime
This isn’t great for workplaces where operations cannot stop – we’re talking a day or two depending on the size of the site. However you can work with us to come to an agreement on a time that best suits you and we will try our best to accommodate it into our schedule.
2. Hazardous
This is a hazardous product meaning there are chemicals and smells in the air which isn’t ideal for especially food facilities so in this case you would want to look at another of our products.
3. To Be Installed by a Professional
Unless you’re experienced with using epoxy, it is very difficult to do it yourself and recommended that you get a professional contractor to install it for you.
4. Difficult to Remove
If the installation is done correctly, it can be very tricky to remove if you ever wanted to change your layout. You would need to diamond grind back the coating which isn’t ideal if your whole surface has been epoxy floor coated.
